 Annapurna Base Camp Trek-10 Days

The Poon Hill and Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of Nepal’s most rewarding Himalayan journeys, combining the famous Poon Hill sunrise viewpoint with the dramatic landscapes of the Annapurna Sanctuary. This 10-day trek offers a perfect balance of mountain scenery, cultural villages, diverse landscapes, and comfortable teahouse accommodation.

The adventure begins from Pokhara with a scenic drive to Nayapul, followed by trekking through beautiful Magar and Gurung villages such as Ulleri, Ghorepani, Tadapani, and Chhomrong. Along the way, trekkers walk through terraced farmlands, flowing rivers, and lush rhododendron forests, which are especially colorful during the spring season.

A major highlight of the trek is the early-morning hike to Poon Hill (2,875m), one of Nepal’s most popular viewpoints. From here, trekkers enjoy breathtaking sunrise views over the Himalayan giants, including Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Dhaulagiri, Hiunchuli, and Nilgiri.

From Ghorepani, the trail continues deeper into the Annapurna region toward Tadapani and Chhomrong, the gateway to Annapurna Base Camp. As the trek ascends through Bamboo, Dovan, and Deurali, the landscape gradually changes from green forests to high alpine terrain. The journey reaches its ultimate destination at Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m), surrounded by towering snow-covered peaks and glaciers, offering an unforgettable 360-degree Himalayan panorama.

After enjoying the majestic views at Annapurna Base Camp, the trek descends through the same scenic trail. One of the most relaxing highlights on the return journey is a visit to the natural hot spring at Jhinu Danda, located on the bank of the Modi River. The trek concludes with a short walk to the jeep station and a comfortable drive back to Pokhara, where clear days often offer beautiful Himalayan views once again.

This trek is ideal for trekkers looking for a moderate yet highly rewarding adventure, combining classic viewpoints, authentic village life, diverse landscapes, and the once-in-a-lifetime experience of standing at the base of the Annapurna massif.
